【植树节故事】

众所周知,每年公历3月12日是我国的植树节。起初,植树节是个农历节。辛亥革命后,孙中山先生重视植树,把每年的清明节定为植树节。新中国成立后,为了纪念这位革命先行者,就将孙中山逝世的公历日期3月12日定为植树节。

在我国,几乎所有的名胜古迹,都有先人们为我们留下的绿荫。在黄帝陵,传说是黄帝亲手栽种的柏树(称“黄帝手植柏”),郁郁葱葱,令人顿生思古之幽情;古城曲阜有孔子的“先师手植柏”。泰山岱庙也有“汉武帝手植柏”。这些千年古树现如今都成了重点保护文物。“中庭树老阅人多”,炎黄子孙树下瞻仰时,自然会生出“前人栽树后人乘凉”的崇敬之情。

古人不仅重视植树,也十分重视保护林木。早在夏禹时代,我国就有了有关保护林木的行政法规。《逸周书》记载:“禹之禁,春三月不登斧,以成草木之长。”春秋战国时期,管仲治理齐国时曾说:“为人君而不能保守其山林菹泽草莱,不可以为天下王……”宋太祖赵匡胤规定:“民伐桑枣为薪者罪之。”清朝雍正继位时,就要求严格保护山林:“严禁非时之斧斤,牛羊之践踏,歹徒之窃盗。”

近代著名爱国将领冯玉祥也十分热爱树木,他在带兵打仗时规定:驻防官兵要在驻地植树造林,即使行军打仗时,也不许践踏林木。他屯兵徐州时,为了严明纪律,特意写了一首护林诗:“老冯驻徐州,大树绿油油。谁砍我的树,我砍谁的头。”

在民间,也流传着许多有关保护林木的故事。传说西湖净慈寺有一古松,某新任太守为修造衙门,下令征伐。方丈无计可施,幸亏有一个济颠和尚写了一首诗,派人送给了太守。诗云:“庭松百尺接天高,久与山僧作故交。本谓枝柯千载茂,谁知刀斧一齐抛。庭前不见龙蛇影,宅畔无闻风雨号。最苦早间飞去鹤,晚回不见旧时巢。”太守见诗,权衡利害,终于收回成命。
